Louis Wembonyama of Madison, passed unexpectedly on December 18, 2019 at UW-Hospital where he was admitted for a heart related chronic disease.

Louis was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and came to the USA on USAID scholarship to pursue his graduate studies. He graduated from UW Madison in 1992 with a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration. At the time of his death, Louis was working for Amazon Services.
Louis is survived by his wife of 40 years Esther Fono Kitondo, 4 daughters Nenette Lunga, Miphie Onema, Chistelle Ongenda, Divin Tapende, Eunice Tola, His Cousin Robert Yung, Nephew Guy Kassongo and many nephews and nieces.
Louis enjoyed playing soccer and dancing to Congolese music at many social events hosted over the years by the African Association of Madison.
Louis was an active member of the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS where he received his baptism.
Louis leaves his cherished memories and “forever smile” to live on in the lives his many Madison friends and Church family, and his family back in the DR Congo
