On July 17, 2019 James passed away peacefully entering into the Kingdom of Heaven. He was born in Pototoc, MS on June 20,1936. He was one of nine children born to the late Watson and Lottie Bell (Beckham) Golden.

He graduated from Pototoc High School. James accepted Christ at a early age. He sang with his father and brothers in churches in the south.
Throught his life, he pursued many interest. He loved reading his Bible, gardening, cooking and working on cars. he was a jack of all trades.
James loved his family especially his 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 4 great great grand children.
After decades of working for other employers, he followed his dreams an became an entrepreneur and opened the Award Winning Big Jims BBQ in Beloit.
James loved the Lord an was a faithful, dedicated and active member of New Zion Baptist Church he sung with the Male Chorus.
He leaves behind a lot of memories that will be truly missed and cherished by his loving confidant, his Queen B of 32 years Lemonia Birdsong-Golden, his children Carl (Cheryl) Golden, Daphne (Cornelius) Dodson, Belden (Lowery) Golden, LaShawn (Denniston) Wilson, Darryl Lucky (Glorita) Jackson, Serenity Golden, Ste’fan Golden, favorite niece Mary “Dee” Johnson, Special Children Shawn Payne and Jaszmein Taylor, Tarashena Moore and Shatikwa Moore.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 sons.
