My queen, my goddess; Rita Ann Gamerdinger, aged 69, of Madison WI, was called home to be with God on Thursday, June 20, 2019. She was surrounded by family who held vigil for over a week prior. Ms. Rita, or Sister Rita as many knew her, fought honorably, and ultimately decided it was time to rest after a 9 year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Those who knew her may never have known the level of pain she was in for the final few years of her life. She chose instead to bring laughter and comfort, seeking to uplift whomever she encountered. My momma, my heart; would do anything to support someone in need, giving kind words, resource referrals and personal funds. She routinely donated to a variety of charities and Go Fund Me Campaigns and I have personally witnessed her give away everything from furniture she was currently using, to her Christmas Tree, to her last $100.00. Her faith in people was almost as strong as her faith in God. She was kind to a fault. Heaven has gained a powerful warrior. Even though she is now free from pain and hurt, I am heartbroken. She is survived by myself, daughter Tasha Gamerdinger, granddaughters Chantee and Imani, sister Sharon (Virgil) Raddatz, brother Richard (Charman) Gamerdinger, sister Ruth (Jim) Craig, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who love her.
