On Monday, February 25, 2019, Jeremy “Worm” Bakken passed away unexpectedly at the age of 36.

Jeremy Roy Bakken was born on April 3, 1982 to Debra Bakken and James Callies. He attended James Madison Memorial High School and Shabazz High School from 1996-2000. Jeremy worked as a Parcel Shipping Clerk for the past 11 years at Saris Cycle and was known playfully as ‘Chavalote’ (The Dude) by several of his fellow employees.
Jeremy loved animals and had a special bond with them. They sensed his gentle nature, and even the most timid of pets would eventually find themselves snuggled on his lap. He had a knack for making others laugh, whether it was with his quick wit, his impeccable timing, or his random use of his coined phrase “I love horses!”. His own laugh was boisterous and would carry over an entire room, having anyone who was around him smiling. If you know what FWP stands for, I hope you imagine him saying it and laugh as you read this.
Jeremy was our “behind the scenes” guy. Silently going out of his way to perform little gestures to make others happy was just something he did for those he loved. He was considerate, loyal, and one of the best listeners. A true friend.
Jeremy enjoyed music, playing video games, and gardening. He was an avid sports fan and rarely missed listening to or watching a Brewers game. While he cheered for the Packers, his favorite football team was the Chiefs. Why? No one is quite sure. He was a man of mystery.
Jeremy was preceded in death by his father, James, maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, and his favorite 4-legged feline friend Tubs. He is survived by his mother, Debra, several close friends who were lucky enough to be called his family, and his friends’ children who lovingly called him “Uncle Worm”.
Family and friends would like to send a special heartfelt thank you to Saris for all of their support and assistance during this time.
