James Albert Johnson passed away peacefully at home on July 31, 2108 at the age of 78. James was born on June 1, 1940 in Ripley, TN, the son of Albert Sidney and Dorine Johnson both of whom preceded him in death.
James accepted Christ at an early age and continued his beliefs throughout his life. He attended Delavan-Darien High School in Delavan, WI. James proudly served in the US Army in Vietnam and Germany.
James leaves to cherish his memory his best friend and wife, Mary Lou (nee DuCharme). They spent 51 wonderful years together and together they fostered 5 children. Mary Lou was his caregiver for the last few years of his life and assisted by special friend, Leona Thornton.
He is remembered by his siblings - Louise Brown and Anna Marie Johnson both of Beloit, Flossie Marshall of Louisville, KY; Sisters-in-law - Kathy (Mike) Skelton of Minocqua, WI; Sandra (Jim) Jones, Tucson, AZ; Ann (Mike) Wilhite, Tucson, AZ; Diana (Todd) Klade, Darien, WI; Lori DuCharme, Milwaukee, WI. Lolita (Leo) Udee, Fond-du-Lac, WI; Brother-in-law Randy (Janice) Dodge, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends. He was fondly called Albert by his family.
James worked as a policeman for Walworth County and Delavan, WI. Later, James was employed by General Motors. What he enjoyed the most was being self-employed and an owner of a Limousine service and Used Car Lot. He loved fixing cars and especially fishing with his buddy, Mark. James will be sadly missed by all.
